'''Summary -''' Authoring huge virtual scenes with a high level of detail is a perennial challenge in the digital entertainment industry. Procedural models have demonstrated to be efficient and compact generating tools that allow for the creation of huge scenes in real time. Textures as well terrain or city geometry can be generated with this approach. However, most existing models consider single-channel data (such as gray-scale textures or terrain elevation), while realistic scenes may exhibit complex interactions between different types of data, each data being represented by one or several channels. In this project, we will focus on procedural multi-channel models based on sparse convolution of impulses with a dictionary. First, we will elaborate models that analyze and reproduce the correlations between the different channels. Second, we will propose algorithms to instantiate the models.

Ph.D. position - Synthesis of realistic procedural textures influenced by environment

Summary - This thesis aims at increasing the realism of procedural textures in virtual synthetic worlds. The generated textures will take into acount the influence of external parameters, such as wind, pollution, weathering... The coupling of these parameters with a procedural creation process will ensure that the final appearance will be physically plausible and realistic while seamlessly incorporated into a virtual world.
